Posterous theme by Cory Watilo

Joshua

This looks like one of my type of movies. Dave Matthews wrote the spooky-sounding song in the movie as well. Looks like the movie was produced by his record company, ATO, and picked up by FOX. Dave, how could you deal with the devil?!...

A Very Live Earth

So I just finished listening to the audio from the Giants Stadium concert of Live Earth from last Saturday. After giving a thru-out listen to it, I am actually very impressed. The bands chosen were great choices and there was a mix of music from rock to pop to R&B to hip hop; a little something for everyone. Also doesn't hurt I guess to have the big man himself, former Veep Al "No I'm not running for Prez...Wait maybe I am" Gore, show up for some support to good ole Joisy. Being a BIG Sting fan (wait, did I mention BIG?!), I was excited to hear The Police the most. In an age where artists that should have retired to that big concert hall in the sky (ie. Eagles, Rolling Stones, PDiddy, etc...) continue to harass us with their legacies, here is one band who actually gave it up waaaay toooo early. Sure enough they put on a nice set too. Highlighted by one of my all-time fav songs too - Message In A Bootle. There is something that gives me chills everytime I hear the end of that song: "Sending out an SOS...." Funny thing too that the LiveEarth motto was SOS = Save Our Selves. Nice touch!!! And of course by now if you know me you'd know that I'm a big fan of the Dave Matthews Band, who just so happened to be there as well. And here is where the letdown came in. I was fully prepared for Dave and crew to step up and give a monster performance like they usually do at these kind of events (see Woodstock perf from a few years back - nice set!). But I was seriously almost in tears when I watched the vid from the Live Earth site. Ouch! Just horrendous. Now I realize the theme of the day and all but a sloppy One Sweet World -> uninspired Don't Drink The Water -> placid Too Much. Eech. I enjoyed Ludacris more. Blech... Bon Jovi came on and rocked pretty hard which was good to see. I'm loving their new album, "Lost Highway". Think of Bon Jovi's unmistakable sound meeting country...Pretty wild kick if you ask me! The Smashing Pumpkins should have stayed retired. Sounded old and dreadful. What happened to Billy Corgan's voice? He sounded like he had a hard time carrying a melody (not that the Pumpkins songs had much more than a good scream or two in them anyway). I dunno. Maybe its just me. If tix weren't so expensive, and I hadn't already bought Travis, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney tix for this summer I was actually considering going. Maybe next time. But at least there is always the internet around to see and hear everything else for FREE!!!

Hello & Welcome!!

So here I am... I'm back! Welcome to my online presence.  My weblog, or BLOG for short.  Well that certainly sounds ominous, doesn't it? Well take for it from what you wish (figure that one out!).  I have decided to become part of the blogosphere (well, officially anyway).  What makes it orth your precious moments to come here you ask?Well just a little about alot of things.  I have recently become an Apple "fanboy".  For those not in the know, that's a term to describe someone who has their head way way up Steve Job's posterior.  Not a pleasant thought I might add.  But so be it.  So I will update about Apple/Mac/Tech stuff and my new 8GB iPhone.  Niiiice... High Five! Yup and of course I am blogging from my trusty white Apple Macbook. High Five!  As you may or may not know I also blog/write for another blog as well called PalmAddict, run by my good pal Sammy McLoughlin (who I might add is dying for his very own iPhone as well).  So I will often link back to PalmAddict so be sure to check out the site.  As many of you are aware I am a musician as well, out on my own doin the solo thing.  So check the links section to the right for my MySpace link where you can listen/buy some of my tunes and support us fledgling artists out there.  Conversely I have been told too many times over the years to mention that I have a knack for picking great artists and albums seemingly out of the blue.   I pick up an album, spread the word to friends and a month later they are on Leno.  Very weird talent.  Wish I had more of a useful talent tho... Hehehe.  So soon you will see a link and you will also be able to subscribe in iTunes a new podcast I am starting called The Online Music Revue.  It will be a weekly podcast focsing on 3 album reviews, including brand new music as well, from different genres.  Niiiice... High Five!  So will be alot of fun.  So stick around, bookmark the site and enjoy.  Adios Amigos!Till next time...
