OMG!

So old man river decided to pick a VP based on the fact she has BOOBS and potentially puts someone who was governor of Alaska (where?) and former mayor of a town of 9,000 people a hairs inch away from the Presidency?? WTF is this asshole thinking??!! I'm starting to dislike this geriatric more than I dislike Bush. We call this Chutzpah! And he certainly has some, but in the WRONG DIRECTION! So basically McCain is a grade A, Washington insider HYPOCRITE! Spends half his days bashing Obama for lack of experience and he puts a former beauty queen who we arent even sure if she's been out of the country in place to be the first female Vice President. Oh, wait... THAT's why he picked her. Not because she has any credential whatsoever to be in the White House (which she most certainly does NOT)... I'm angry... if only I could grow taller and green.... Obama/Biden 2008!!!!

They Did It!

Of the last 3 conventions I've actually watched tonight was the most powerful night out of any of them. Both Clinton's and Biden's speech were, for lack of better word, PERFECT! They were actually uplifting and I at a few points was teary-eyed. Weird.. But i feel rocked and energized and want to see them win. They turned me and if they were able to turn me then I can only be sure that others have concluded that Obama/Biden would be a much better choice than McCain and any other lackey he could add to his ticket. So while I will be choosing my fantasy football team tomorrow night (some things never change!) and won't be home, VROOM VROOM revs up the DVR!

WOW

Well that's pretty much all I can say. I think Barack needs to give Bill a hug and say "Thanks big guy!" Bill's speech hit on every topic he needed to hit and here is the kicker - he wrote the speech himself! So any doubt about how the Clintons' would serve their party and their new nominee should be put to rest because I've actually heard enough of it already. Barack, thank them both. you have my vote...

Like Me??

I'm just going to throw this out there as a mini-editorial. After watching last nights DNC convention and all the hyperbole spewed by the many, many pundits on hand I can't help but wonder, "Do I really want my President to be just like me?" Wasnt this the stupid reason why people voted for George W. Bush in the first place? I don't want my President to be like me! Or probably like you neither! I want him to be smarter, faster, more witted, more enthusiastic, less lazy and all that good stuff. I sure as he'll don't want him to be like some cowpoke from Nebraska. Geezus! How dumbed down does our society really need to be. Come on Obama - stop pandering to ordinary folks. Ordinary folk dont graduate from Ivy League schools and hold a seat in the US Senate (by the way there are only 99 other people who can claim that distinction). I dont want to have a drink with you. In fact i never want to meet you. I just want you to know how to rebuild our economy and regain our status as a great nation on our planet. You got to your place in our society for a reason. You have a chance to be the leader if the free fucking world. Now act like it...

Like... Oh My God!

What a horrendously horrible 30 minutes of television.. and I can't believe I'm watching it! There is no point or plot to this show. It's like Seinfeld, only without the comedic talent. But I'm hooked and stuck watching it. It's like that weird flavor of ice cream: You try it, figure out you're not really a fan, but can't put it down or stop from eating it. So we'll see how this season plays out. Episode one = not very good. Episode two = not much better. To be continued...

Manchester United 1 - Portsmouth 0

My boys win their first match of the year over a seemingly overmatched Portsmouth team, despite not having leading goal scorer Cristiano Ronaldo in the fold. Great win to pick up 3 points as last week the draw netted the team only a point. Now with 4 points in 2 games they are back in the early fray, ready to kick some Chelsea arse! LeRoi Moore R.I.P. 1961-2008

LeRoi Moore, the saxophonist and one of the founding members of the Dave Matthews Band, died yesterday unexpectedly. I'm kind of in shock right now, even as I post this. For those who know me, I grew up with this band, all through my late teens and my 20's, even up until last year when I caught them for the first time in a few years at the Izod Center. It wasn't just music, it was (and still is) a culture. It was thru this band that I became a lover of *real* music - people getting together to perform some magical feats with an instrument. It was through common love of this band that I helped form my own band. LeRoi was a big part of that - I feel like I've lost a brother, even though I never met the man... What will happen with the band from here no one knows I guess. I drank beer to their music, I've smoked to their music, I've shared relationships to their music, I've cried to their music, I've puked to their music, I've made lifelong friends due to their music, I've smiled to their music, I've laughed to their music, I've drove over bridges with my eyes closed to their music, I've failed classes to their music, I've survived a terrorist attack to their music.. I guess one could say LeRoi (and the band) have been and will always remain a MAJOR part of my life. Those kind of memories just don't fade... So I want to pass on my condolences to LeRoi's family, friends, and bandmates. A humble man who knew how to make people happy. Here's to you old friend... Rest In Peace.... and THANK YOU!
